Can you perform batch processing ?

Yes – we specialise in batch processing and also continuous processing, depending on what needs our clients have.

Do you sell products ?

No – we are a ex-works contract chemical manufacturer and, in order to avoid any conflicts of interest with our clients, we have chosen to specialise on the processing side and not sell any products whatsoever.

Can you carry out multi-stage processing?

Yes - for example, we recently sieved a material to a desired specification which was subsequently coated with an active product. The material was then packed into 1000Kg sacks.

What is your minimum order quantity for processing?

Exwold tend to work in the 10 to 1000 tonnes range for each client, i.e., bulk processing rather than small scale processing. We will, however, evaluate each job as we receive them and, in some cases, it may be viable for us to process smaller volumes of materials.

Can we visit Exwold to perform an audit?

We’re very keen to invite all our clients to our sites in Billingham and Hartlepool so they can perform audits. We have accreditation to ISO 9001/14001 standards and are proud to show our sites to clients.

Can you process foodstuffs ?

No – we are a speciality chemicals contract manufacturer, so we avoid foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and personal care products.

Can you purchase raw materials for clients as well as manufacture?

Where possible, we try not to buy in raw materials as this impacts on the final cost to the client. Our clients normally supply their own raw materials to us. However, if needed, we are able to purchase raw materials.

Can you do pre-production trials?

Yes – we have a number of laboratories and chemists who can perform pre-production trials. In fact, we often recommend a trial before production so that we can evaluate any technical challenges and arrive at an accurate costing.

Can you process solvents?

We tend to work mostly in aqueous phase, but if the solvents have a flash point of >60° then we would consider this possible.

How much will you charge me?

Every processing job is different, so each piece of work is evaluated and costed separately, This way we are all in agreement before work commences.
