Exwold's Managing Director, Kevin Martin & Head of Technical Support, Peter Webb were delighted to attend their first school assembly for many years & present a £2000 cheque to Golden Flatts Primary School.
Exwold have worked closely with local schools including Golden Flatts Primary for many years and were proud to tell the children of their success in winning the award for "Manufacturing Best Practice" at the recent NEPIC awards and being able to donate the cash prize to the school. The award was sponsored by Middlesbrough College.
Peter Webb, who regularly shows school groups around the Exwold facility, said "It is a wonderful opportunity to get children excited in Science and we are thrilled that we can encourage children to look at Science as a future career"
Dr Stan Higgins of NEPIC also attended the assembly and explained to the children how important science is to their everyday lives, from when they wake in the morning until they go back to sleep at night. He also said that the future of science is in the hands of the children like those at Golden Flatts School and implored them to develop their scientific ideas into their future careers.
Head teacher Mrs Sharpe thanked Exwold Technology, NEPIC and Middlesbrough College for donating the prize money and explained to the children how the money will be used to enhance their experience of science at the school.
