Exwold Technology has been awarded a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project commencing September 2010 for a duration of 24 months.
The overall objective of the project is to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), which will enhance Exwold's efficiency and productivity by re-engineering, integrating and automating its business processes.
The project has been awarded by the Technology Strategy Board in conjunction with One North East.
Pablo Gonzalez (pictured left) is the KTP associate who will be responsible for leading the project with the support of Exwold employees and the Teesside Manufacturing Centre (TMU) from the The University of Teesside.
The successful implementation of this project will enable Exwold Technology to accommodate their increasing volume demand linked to their strategy of growth, as well as reinforce its competitive advantages of being Innovative, Collaborative and Experts in their field.
Exwold's intention is to continuously improve the delivery of high quality specialty chemicals contract processing to its customers and to continue to develop long term, close working partnerships.
ABOUT KTP
KTP is funded by the Technology Strategy Board with 18 other funding organisations including Research Councils, Regional Development Agencies, the devolved administrations and a number of other Governmental departments recognising the importance of knowledge transfer to economic development and wealth creation.
The Technology Strategy Board was established by the Government in 2007 and is sponsored and funded by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS).
KTP was established over 30 years ago and was initially aimed at helping apply science and engineering knowledge and technology from universities to businesses. The success of the scheme has meant it has now expanded to include all academic disciplines and business sectors, including public sector bodies.
